Basic introduction of suspension clamp

Nowadays, it is widely used in China, and its characteristics are easy and fast to install. Below is an introduction:
(1) Old style ship type line clamp
This type of wire clamp can be used for both conductors and lightning rods. It can withstand the installation load of wires within the vertical span, and does not allow the wire clamp to slide or detach from the insulator string during normal operation or disconnection of the line. The tower using this wire clamp has a high bearing pressure.
(2) Pre twisted suspension clamp
Function and Application: Used for connecting ADSS optical cables, OPGW optical cables, various wires, etc. in straight towers. The combination of inner and outer spiral pre twisted wires can effectively protect the optical cable, without concentrated stress, avoiding bending stress, and providing protection and auxiliary vibration reduction for the optical cable. The complete set of suspension clamps includes: inner and outer pre twisted wires, suspension heads, and matching connecting fittings. The grip strength of the cable clamp is greater than 10% -20% of the rated tensile strength of the optical cable, making installation convenient.
The suspension clamp includes a hanger, U-screws, and a hull.
There is a certain limit to the maximum deflection angle of the suspension clamp. When the hull rotates to a certain angle, the U-screws will be blocked by the hanger. The maximum deflection angle is also a safe operating condition. The maximum deflection angle is not only related to the suspension angle of the wires or ground wires on both sides of the tower suspension point, but also to the diameter of the wires and ground wires (the outer diameter of the wires should include the thickness of the wrapped aluminum tape or the diameter of the protective wire). The larger the diameter, the higher the U-shaped screw moves upward, and the smaller the maximum deflection angle. If the deflection angle is greater than the maximum, measures should be taken, such as changing the double line clamp, adjusting the tower height, or designing a new type of clamp.
