Guarding wire is a metal wire used to enhance the stiffness and vibration resistance of a conductor, usually wound in a spiral shape around the conductor (ground). Its main function is to prevent damage to overhead power lines during vibration, by increasing the stiffness of the wire clamp, suppressing the bending, compression stress, and wear of the wire caused by vibration, thereby improving the vibration resistance of the wire. There are two main types of armor rods: conical and pre twisted. In China, pre twisted wire protection rods are commonly used as anti vibration protection measures. Pre twisted wires are usually made of aluminum magnesium silicon alloy and have been included in hardware products.
