How To Fix The Fiber Optic Cable Joint Box

How to fix the fiber optic cable splice box, which is a commonly used product in the optical communication industry? Next, let's learn together!
The installation method of the overhead optical cable joint box includes: one is fixed on the power pole, and the joint box is parallel to the power pole, such as the fixing of the cap type joint box; Another type is fixed on the suspension wire, with the junction box parallel to the suspension wire, often used as a junction box for leading out optical cables at both ends.

When the horizontal overhead joint box is firmly attached to the suspension line, one reason is that the flat direction of the joint box is straight from the ground, so it is more windward and the joint box swings easily; Secondly, the sealing seam is facing upwards. When the seal fails, water is more likely to enter the joint box; The third issue is that the fiber winding disc inside the splice box is in a straight position, making it easy for the fiber optic splice and reserved fibers to deviate from their original orientation and become unstable. Rotate the joint box to 90 degrees. It can eliminate the bad elements mentioned above, just pay attention to the fiber winding disk facing upwards.

Therefore, it is necessary to consider the following points for the installation of overhead optical cable splice boxes:
1. Reduce wind resistance to minimize the oscillation of the joint box;
2. Seal the gap downwards or sideways as much as possible to prevent rainwater from entering when the seal fails;
3. Make the fiber winding disc inside the splice box horizontal and facing upwards, so that the fiber joints and reserved fibers inside the fiber winding disc are in a stable condition. Only then can we prevent the occurrence of illnesses as much as possible.
Regarding the cap type joint box fixed on the overhead pole, it will not sway under the effect of wind because the cable hole and sealing seam face downwards, making it difficult for rainwater to enter the joint box; But the splice box is a straight device, and the fiber winding disc inside the splice box is in a straight state, which can cause the fiber optic splice and reserved fiber to easily deviate from their original orientation, resulting in an unstable situation. This is a disadvantage that cannot be overcome by the cap type splice box, so it is necessary to properly fix the fiber optic joints and reserved fibers inside the fiber winding disc to ensure they are in a stable condition, otherwise it is easy to malfunction.

Regarding direct buried joints and pipeline joints, simply pay attention to the fiber winding disc facing upwards.
In order to achieve an upward orientation of the fiber winding disc, the orientation of the fiber winding disc should be indicated on the outside of the housing of the fiber optic cable splice box, especially for the cap type fiber optic cable splice box, which should be indicated on the outside of the splice box housing.
